At the end of April, the official championship of the Czech Republic in FIFA23 took place at the Playzone Arena in Prague. Sparta, as the first football club in the Czech Republic to enter esports, had three qualified players in the tournament. They had to fight their way through a series of qualifying tournaments, from which the final sixteen emerged.

Seron, Emerickson and Caster were drawn into groups of 4 players each, with the top two from each subsequently advancing to the playoffs, i.e. the TOP8. Caster played in Group A, won two matches and only missed out on the later winner of the whole tournament Matejs by one goal, which secured him a place in the knockout section. Seron and Emerickson were drawn in the same group, which was Group D. Both players won two games and lost one, which in group math means advancement. The matchup was better for Seron, who outscored Emerickson by 5 goals and secured a better starting position for the knockout stage. Sparta eSports - ENTERPRISE thus had the largest representation in the playoffs - three players out of eight and a 100% success rate in advancing out of the groups.

Emerickson entered the first playoff game against the late tournament winner Matejs. The game couldn't have been more evenly matched. With the score at 4-4, neither regulation time nor the setup was enough to decide the game, so it went to penalty kicks. Unfortunately, our player's luck was not in his favour and he had to say goodbye to the tournament. On the opposite side of the bracket the rest of our team, Seron and Caster, ran into each other. This match was also very close, but Seron decided to advance in the end when he scored the deciding goal to make the score 5:4. Caster, just like Emerickson, finished in the top eight of the tournament.

Seron advanced to the semifinals, where he faced a formidable opponent in Marioso. This match deserved to go to penalties, as the game went from side to side during regulation and overtime, with both players putting on an incredible performance. Like Emerickson, Seron didn't have the necessary luck this time and lost the penalty shootout. Seron, however, made up for it in the third place match where he defeated Totik of FC Baník Ostrava eSports 6-4 to take home the bronze medal.

"Feelings are mixed. I think I had a shot at the final, but penalties are a lottery that I've been losing lately. Anyway, 3rd place at the Czech Championship will be a success in time. I'm glad that I secured a place on the podium for our team. I would like to thank all the fans who cheered and supported me in chat and on social media. I hope the next Championship will be ours." adds Seron on the third place.
